The prehistoric houses as reconstructed in Archeon have small or no windows. Most light enters through the door and the smoke holes under the roof. Besides this, the open fire gives some light. Honestly, we do not know whether prehistoic houses had lots or few windows because in general, we only recover houseplans as colourings in the soil where the wooden posts have stood. These do not give any clues as to if and where windows were added. We think it is not very logical to have large holes in the walls because this would make the house very cold.
