They were buried in a distance of approx. 2 km to the village, mostly in a dry and slightly elevated place outside of the best acres. Skeletal remains found in the settlements indicated maybe burial houses. Burial customs changed several times during the Pfahlbauperiod. Body graves in stone coffins, flexed burials, cremations and burials in urns or tumulus tombs are known. The decedents were often equipped for the beyond with a costume, tools, weapons and sometimes with food and drink.
