Did prehistoric people use something like our buttons?
The finds which we describe as buttons date to the Neolithic; they were made, for example, from bone or amber. But we do not find many of these artefacts. Clothes were fastened with pins and from the Bronze Age with fibulae as well or the clothes were designed in such a way that fastenings were not necessary – often they were just tightened with laces and belts.

Používali už pravěcí lidé něco pododného knoflíkům?
Nálezy, které považujeme za knoflíky, pocházejí už z pozdní doby kamenné; dělaly se např. z kosti nebo z jantaru. Jinak se ale takových předmětů moc nenachází. Oděvy se spínaly jehlicemi, od doby bronzové i sponami, nebo byly ušity tak, že se spínat nemusily – často se spíše stahovaly tkanicemi, pásky apod.
